Boiling Water in Five Easy Steps

If you haven’t studied nuclear engineering, you are probably wondering how a nuclear reactor produces electricity.

We will learn how to boil water (and how you could get electricity from it) in five (plus or minus) easy steps. Okay, I lied: they aren’t that easy.

We will (briefly) explore how a nuclear power reactor works, from mining and enriching the uranium to splitting the atoms, to controlling the fission reaction, to the byproducts that are produced.
