Gypsy Jazz - why it rocks your socks off & you wanna be groupies without even knowing it

A brief discussion on Gypsy Jazz, from its roots with Django Rheinhardt & Stephane Grappelli, through all those influenced by this music (Les Paul, Wes Montgomery, Carlos Santana, and nearly every other rock god guitarist on the planet). Also will mention modern gypsy jazz players like bireli langréne, kruno, andreas öberg, robin nolan, stochelo rosenberg, jimmy rosenberg, howard alden, etc.). Actually, talk & slides will last only 2 – 2 1/2 minutes. Because the only way to excite & get people toe-tapping about gypsy jazz is to PLAY SOME. So i’ll bring up on stage with me 3 or four players to play a 2 minute traditional Gypsy Jazz numbers. Yes, Josh, I know you think it can’t be done and it only begs disaster to have a musician set-up on stage. Take the Leap O’ Faith, Man! Let’s DO THIS! Latcho Drom!
